FreeMax Onnix OX DVC Coil Pack Review: MTL vs RDL in 5 Coils
Not every replacement coil pack gives you a choice between mouth-to-lung and restricted-direct-lung in the same box. This FreeMax Onnix OX DVC Coil Pack review breaks down what the 5-piece set actually offers – three MTL-style Dual Vertical Coil resistances plus one RDL mesh coil – and where each one lands on wattage before you add it to a Dubai order.

FreeMax Onnix OX DVC Coil Pack Review: Overview
This 5-piece pack from FreeMax covers four resistance options built for the Onnix OX: 0.8ohm, 1.0ohm and 1.2ohm Dual Vertical Coils rated for MTL draws at 12-15W, 9-13W and 9-13W respectively, plus a 0.5ohm SS904L Mesh Coil rated 16-20W for RDL vaping. All coils use FreeMax’s Tea Fiber Cotton Formula wicking. Listed at AED 50 on Vaps Shop AE, the pack is currently in stock with delivery across all seven emirates.
Build and Materials
Three of the four resistances in this pack – the 0.8ohm, 1.0ohm and 1.2ohm options – are built as Dual Vertical Coils, a construction that stands two coil heads vertically rather than the single flat mesh strip used in most sub-ohm coils. The fourth, a 0.5ohm coil, swaps that layout for an SS904L Mesh build, a stainless steel alloy FreeMax uses for its mesh coil line. Every coil shares the same Tea Fiber Cotton Formula wicking material, which FreeMax applies across the Onnix OX range regardless of resistance.
DVC Technology Explained
Dual Vertical Coil design places two coil heads on end rather than side-by-side, a layout FreeMax uses on the 0.8ohm, 1.0ohm and 1.2ohm options in this pack. FreeMax’s own naming for the technology is DVC, and it is paired with the Tea Fiber Cotton Formula wick across all three of these resistances. The fourth coil in the pack breaks from DVC entirely, using an SS904L Mesh build instead, which is why it sits in a different wattage band and vaping style category from the other three.
Coil Options and Wattage
Here is how the four coils in this pack compare on paper:
| Coil | Resistance | Wattage | Style |
|---|---|---|---|
| DVC 0.8ohm | 0.8ohm | 12-15W | MTL |
| DVC 1.0ohm | 1.0ohm | 9-13W | MTL |
| DVC 1.2ohm | 1.2ohm | 9-13W | MTL |
| SS904L Mesh 0.5ohm | 0.5ohm | 16-20W | RDL |
MTL vs RDL Vaping Style
The three DVC resistances (0.8ohm, 1.0ohm, 1.2ohm) are built for mouth-to-lung draws, a tighter inhale similar to a cigarette, and sit at the lower end of this pack’s wattage range. The 0.5ohm SS904L mesh coil switches to restricted-direct-lung, an airier draw that runs at a higher 16-20W. Picking between them comes down to draw preference rather than one being objectively better – MTL suits vapers who want a firmer pull and lower power draw, while RDL suits those who prefer a looser draw with more vapour at a moderately higher wattage.
Tank Compatibility
FreeMax lists these coils as built specifically for the Onnix OX, so they are designed to seat correctly in that device’s coil chamber rather than being a universal fit for other FreeMax tanks or other brands. If your setup is a different FreeMax model, check the coil slot before ordering rather than assuming interchangeability. For related hardware, the Vape Kit category at Vaps Shop AE lists current device options that pair with FreeMax coil lines.
Who Should Buy It
This pack suits Onnix OX owners who want to test more than one draw style without buying separate packs – the 3 DVC resistances cover a range of MTL tightness, while the single 0.5ohm mesh coil covers RDL in the same box. Vapers who already know they prefer one style exclusively may find only one or two of the five coils see regular use, though having spares across resistances still has value for a device you vape daily.
UAE Compliance and Nicotine Note
These coils are hardware components with no e-liquid or nicotine built in, so the UAE’s commonly-cited 20mg/ml (2%) e-liquid nicotine cap does not apply to the coils themselves. The strength you vape through the Onnix OX depends entirely on whichever e-liquid you fill it with, and that e-liquid falls under its own compliance framework overseen by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) under the Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS). Always check your e-liquid’s own strength and compliance mark. Vaping hardware sales in the UAE are restricted to buyers aged 21 and over.
Pros and Cons
A quick summary of where this pack scores and where it does not:
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Covers both MTL and RDL styles in one 5-piece pack | Built specifically for the Onnix OX, not other tanks |
| 3 DVC resistances plus 1 SS904L mesh option | Vapers who prefer only one style get fewer usable spares |
| Tea Fiber Cotton Formula wicking across all four coils | Exact tank e-liquid capacity is not listed in this description |
| Wattage ranges published for every resistance | No e-liquid included with the pack |
Price and Value
At AED 50 for 5 coils across 4 resistance options, the Onnix OX DVC Coil Pack works out to AED 10 per coil, a competitive rate for replacement coils in Dubai given the mix of MTL and RDL styles included. Vaps Shop AE delivers nationwide across the UAE with cash on delivery available; see the Delivery Terms and Conditions page for timing by emirate.
