Design and build

The Drag H80S is a 123 × 26 × 32mm pod mod built around a single 18650 cell that loads through a magnetised door at the base, with a colour TFT screen, a fire button and the embossed DRAG logo that doubles as grip. At 26mm wide it is slimmer than most 18650 mods, which is the whole point of the “H” (hybrid) layout.

The external battery is the design decision that defines this kit. A removable 18650 means the device never becomes e-waste when the cell wears out, you can carry a charged spare and swap in seconds, and the mod itself stays thin because there is no internal pack shaped to the chassis. The cost is that the kit ships empty: you need to buy an 18650 separately, and a device with a user-replaceable cell needs a little more care than a sealed pod.

Build quality is where VOOPOO’s Drag line earns its reputation. The frame is rigid, the magnetised battery door closes with a firm click and stays shut, and the rubberised base keeps it from sliding on a desk. Two viewing windows in the battery section let you see the e-liquid level in the 4.5ml pod without pulling it, a small detail that saves a lot of guessing. Flavour and vapor performance

The Drag H80S runs 5–80W across a 0.1–3.0Ω range and ships with two PnP-TW mesh coils, the 0.3Ω TW30 and the 0.15Ω TW15, which puts it firmly in restricted-lung and direct-lung territory. Flavour is dense and warm on both coils, with the TW15 producing the larger cloud and the TW30 giving a slightly cooler, more controlled vape.

Here is why the coil choice matters. Resistance sets how much power a coil can take: the 0.15Ω TW15 wants 55–70W, and at that level the mesh heats the full surface of the wick almost instantly, which is what gives the H80S its fast ramp-up and its thick vapor. The 0.3Ω TW30 runs lower, roughly 32–40W, draws less current from the cell, and delivers a tighter restricted-lung hit that suits people who find a 0.15Ω coil too much. In our testing the TW15 at 60–65W is the coil that makes the H80S worth owning: sweet dessert liquids come through layered rather than flat, and fruit-ice liquids keep their cooling note even at high power. The TW30 is the daily driver if you want to stretch battery and liquid; it loses a little of the TW15’s intensity but nothing of its clarity.

The GENE.TT 2.0 chipset’s Smart mode caps wattage to the fitted coil’s safe range, which prevents the burnt hit that comes from firing a fresh coil too hard. Airflow adjusts from restricted-lung to fully open direct-lung; there is no genuinely tight mouth-to-lung setting, and anyone who wants a cigarette-style draw should look at a lower-power pod instead.

On nicotine: the H80S ships with no e-liquid, so strength is whatever you fill it with, capped at 20mg/ml in the UAE. On sub-ohm mesh coils at 40–70W the sensible pairing is 3–6mg/ml freebase; 20mg/ml nicotine salt at those wattages is harsh and is not how this device is meant to be used.

Battery and longevity

The Drag H80S takes a single external 18650 and charges it in the device over Type-C at 5V/2A, which is fast for an 18650 mod. VOOPOO does not publish a puff count, and runtime depends on the cell you fit and the wattage you run: at 65W on the TW15 a 3000mAh 18650 lasts around half a day; at 35W on the TW30 it lasts a full day.

The mechanism is straightforward: wattage is power draw, and an 18650 holds a fixed amount of energy, so running the 0.15Ω coil at 65W uses roughly twice the charge per puff of running the 0.3Ω coil at 35W. This is the reason a removable battery suits high-power pods: rather than waiting for a charge, you swap in a second cell.

Buy the right cell. vapsshop.ae stocks the EFEST 18650 3000mAh and the AWT 18650 3500mAh, both at 40 AED, and both are high-drain cells suitable for an 80W device. Never use an 18650 with damaged wrap, and don’t use low-drain cells salvaged from laptop packs; an 80W pod mod pulls more current than those are rated for.

The real price. The kit is 140 AED and the battery is 40 AED, so budget 180 AED to be vaping on day one. That still lands below many built-in-battery pod mods once you factor in that the cell can be replaced for 40 AED years from now instead of retiring the whole device.

Which coil to start on. Fit the 0.3Ω TW30 first at around 35W. It’s more forgiving of a fresh wick, uses less battery and liquid, and tells you whether you like the restricted-lung draw. Move to the 0.15Ω TW15 at 60–65W once you want more vapor. Let Smart mode set the starting wattage on a new coil; it caps power to the coil’s safe range.

How the lock works. The H80S can be locked to prevent pocket firing, but a locked device won’t fire at all; you unlock before vaping. Some pod mods let you fire while adjustment is locked. If you lock devices often, this will be a small daily irritation.
