SMOK Nord 5, Nord 50W, Nord 4 and Novo 5 Compared: Regular vs Leather and Which One to Buy in Dubai
SMOK’s Nord and Novo pod lines, from SMOK, the Shenzhen vape hardware brand, cover the 1800mAh Nord 50W, the 2000mAh, 80W Nord 5 and Nord 4, and the compact Novo 5, at 120–150 AED on vapsshop.ae, each in a Regular or a Leather finish. The Regular-versus-Leather question is cosmetic; the real decisions are Nord 50W versus Nord 5 on power and coils, and Nord versus Novo on size and draw. Our verdict: the Nord 50W is the value buy at 120 AED, the Nord 5 is the pick for 80W and a bigger cell, and the Novo 5 is the one for a small, simple MTL pod.

The Nord 50W listing prints its output voltage where the wattage should be; the 50W figure is SMOK’s published spec. The Novo 5 kit listing describes an 80W sub-ohm device with 0.15Ω coils, which contradicts vapsshop.ae’s own Novo 5 pod listing (0.7Ω mesh MTL, 2ml) and SMOK’s positioning of the Novo as a compact MTL pod; we treat the pod listing as correct and flag the kit page below.
Regular vs Leather: what actually changes
Nothing inside. On the Nord 50W, Nord 5, Nord 4 and Novo 5, the Leather Series is the same device with a wrapped panel in place of the resin or armour finish. The Nord 5 Leather is 1mm taller and 1.1mm thicker than the Regular because of the wrap; the Nord 50W Leather costs 10 AED more; the Nord 5 and Novo 5 Leather versions cost the same as their Regulars. Choose by feel and look, not by spec.
Nord 50W (Regular and Leather)
The SMOK Nord 50W Regular is 120 AED and the Nord 50W Leather 130 AED, both 97 × 31 × 22.6mm zinc alloy with an 1800mAh battery, up to 50W, a side display and a single button, and both take three pod types: 4ml RPM and LP2 pods and the 4.5ml Nord pod, on RPM, LP2 and Nord coils.
The Nord 50W’s three-coil-family compatibility is its reason to exist: one device covers MTL on the Nord coil, restricted-lung on RPM and direct-lung on LP2. Nord 5 (Regular and Leather)
The SMOK Nord 5 Regular and Nord 5 Leather are both 150 AED: a 2000mAh battery, 5–80W, a 0.15–2.5Ω range, a 0.69in OLED, two adjustment buttons and a sliding airflow, in zinc alloy. The Nord 5 pods use RPM 3 coils per vapsshop.ae’s Nord 5 pod listing.
The Nord 5 is the Nord 50W’s bigger sibling: 200mAh more, 30W more, a real OLED and two buttons. What it gives up is the three-family coil flexibility; it is built around RPM 3 mesh for restricted and direct-lung. Our Nord 5 Regular review and Nord 5 Leather review cover each.
Nord 4
The SMOK Nord 4 (and its Leather Series) is 150 AED for a 2000mAh, up-to-80W kit with a side OLED, a 4.5ml pod compatible with RPM and RPM 2 coils, side fill and an airflow ring covering MTL and DL. It is the previous-generation 80W Nord at the Nord 5’s price; the Nord 5 is the better buy unless you already own RPM 2 coils. No standalone review yet.
Novo 5
The SMOK Novo 5 is 150 AED in Regular or Leather. Its own Novo 5 pod listing describes a 2ml top-fill pod with an integrated 0.7Ω mesh MTL coil, which is what the Novo line is: a small, draw-friendly MTL pod. The kit page’s claims of 80W and 0.15Ω sub-ohm coils don’t match that and we don’t repeat them; confirm the spec with the store before ordering. Ranked by battery capacity divided by price, the Nord 50W Regular leads at 15.0 mAh per AED; every 150 AED kit ties at 13.3.

The ranking says the 30 AED step from Nord 50W to Nord 5 buys 200mAh, 30W and a better interface rather than proportionally more cell. It also says the Novo 5’s 2000mAh figure on the kit page deserves the same scepticism as its wattage; a compact MTL pod with a 2ml pod rarely carries that much battery.
Which Nord or Novo for which vaper
Best value, three coil families, don’t need 80W: Nord 50W Regular (120 AED). Same with a leather wrap: Nord 50W Leather (130 AED). 80W, OLED, two buttons, RPM 3 mesh: Nord 5 Regular or Leather (150 AED). Already own RPM 2 coils: Nord 4 (150 AED). UAE-specific notes
Two rules shape these devices in the UAE: e-liquid nicotine is capped at 20mg/ml under the MOIAT standard UAE.S 5030:2018, and nicotine products may only be sold to adults aged 18 and over under Federal Law No. 15 of 2009.
Nicotine cap. Every Nord and Novo is refillable, so the cap applies to the liquid. All e-liquid sold legally in the UAE sits at or below the 20mg/ml limit set in MOIAT’s mandatory regulation for electronic nicotine products (UAE.S 5030:2018). On the Novo 5’s 0.7Ω pod and the Nord coil, 10–20mg/ml salt suits; on RPM 3 and LP2 mesh at 40W+, 3–6mg/ml freebase.
Age restriction. These products are for adults aged 18 and over. Federal Law No. 15 of 2009 on Tobacco Control prohibits selling tobacco and nicotine products to anyone under 18, and vapsshop.ae verifies age at checkout. Vaping is not risk-free and this guide makes no health claims about it.
Heat and storage. A 4–4.5ml pod in a parked car in a Dubai summer, where interiors pass 60°C, will thin its liquid and seep past the coil, and lithium cells degrade. Keep any Nord out of direct sun, store filled pods upright, and don’t charge in a hot vehicle.

What other comparisons leave out
Two listings contradict themselves. The Nord 50W page prints “0.5–4.0V” as its wattage range (that is the voltage; SMOK’s spec is 5–50W), and the Novo 5 kit page describes an 80W sub-ohm device while its own pod page describes a 0.7Ω MTL pod. We’ve used the SMOK spec and the pod listing respectively, and flagged both for correction.
Coil families decide the buy. Nord 50W: RPM, LP2 and Nord. Nord 5: RPM 3 (via Nord 5 pods). Nord 4: RPM and RPM 2. Novo 5: integrated 0.7Ω pods. Buy the kit whose consumables you can find; all are stocked on vapsshop.ae.
Leather is a finish, not a tier. Every Leather Series is the same device as its Regular. The only price difference is the Nord 50W’s 10 AED.
